Whether they turned tourists into stars through “It’s Your Show” ads or challenged viewers to prove they were the “Funnest Family,” this summer’s television campaigns for St. Louis and the state put everyday people in the spotlight.

The “It’s Your Show” ads feature real families, friends or couples from neighboring states and highlight a variety of destinations across the Show Me State. While the Missouri Division of Tourism’s “It’s Your Show” ads are new this summer, the Explore St. Louis “Funnest Family” ads are in their second season.

“Call it the sequel to the campaign we introduced last year featuring the same family, same musician playing the ukulele, singing a song about St. Louis while showcasing St. Louis area attractions,” said Brian Hall, chief marketing officer at Explore St. Louis, the area’s nonprofit tourism marketing organization. “This year, we changed the lyrics, added some blues elements to the music and introduced a series of new attractions.”…
