At H/L, we want our people to do the best work of their careers with us. To ensure that, we promise to foster a working culture in which empathy, kindness, creativity, and courage can flourish. And as a company, we’ve committed to a sustained effort to continue to create positive change and further equity—in our agency, in our communities, and in our industry.

Here are just some of the actions we’ve taken to do this:

Establishing the Human Equity Advisory Council.

Established to ensure H/Lers of all backgrounds are respected, recognized, included, and engaged throughout the organization.

Organizational training from The Learner’s Group.

H/L tapped industry leader The Learner’s Group to help us explore what DEI means for our agency. Together, we identified impactful ways to enrich our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts with a new focus on meaningful Engagement.

Affinity groups.

Affinity groups are built around both professional and personal connections among diverse peer groups at H/L. They’re open to all, and offer support for learning the ins-and-outs of H/L culture, broad career perspectives, discussions on balancing life and work, and sometimes, just an excuse to get together, have fun, and socialize.

There’s still lots of work to do, but Engagement will be our DEI proving ground. It’s where what we say and do will reflect who we are.
