H/L is looking for a fearless, curious, roll-up-your-sleeves Senior Strategist to join H/L. You’ll support the VP/Director of Brand Strategy by producing a variety of strategic planning output for one or more key clients.

Location is flexible, with a preference for applicants who can regularly visit one of our five offices in Oakland, Atlanta, Miami, Phoenix, or St. Louis.

About you:

  • You’ve got 4 to 8 years of experience as a Strategist within an agency or consultancy environment, within research or consumer insight development, or in a brand development role
  • You’re an optimistic, proactive team player ready to get your hands dirty
  • Inside of you lives an insatiable, natural curiosity; you’re no stranger to finding yourself in a deep, dark Wikipedia rabbit hole
  • You’re a persuasive writer, presenter, and communicator
  • You enjoy analyzing and synthesizing information to get to the big “aha”
  • You have some level of experience with designing, managing, or supporting proprietary research projects
  • You’re a strong desk researcher—bonus points if you have some familiarity in effectively using social listening, syndicated data tools, or in interpreting brand health metrics, or if you have experience with designing/leading quantitative research
  • You’ve got a bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study

What you’ll do:

  • Tap into cultural trends and mine consumer insights to build compelling strategies and Make Momentum.TM for our clients
  • Autonomously craft beautiful, tightly defined creative briefs and partner with Creative teams hand-in-hand to produce the most effective work possible
  • Track effectiveness and optimize our agency output
  • Design and develop quantitative and qualitative research projects
  • Distill complex data into simple narratives
  • Proactively develop and articulate clear agency points of views
  • Partner closely with Account Service, Creative, Media, Analytics, Social, and Insights team members
  • Other duties as assigned

For SF Bay Area / CA based: H/L offers projected salary range for a position as an estimate of what the company believes is a reasonable pay scale. The actual salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on various factors, including the job’s scope and responsibilities, the candidate’s qualifications, budget availability within the department, internal pay equity, geographic location, and external market pay rates for similar positions. The salary range for this position is expected to be between $110,000 – $150,000 per year.
