H/L is hiring a Junior Creative Team (Art Director and Copywriter)! Or we’re hoping to build one from individual Creative applicants who are stoked to jumpstart their careers by working on high-profile projects for global brands.

We are a coast-to-coast powerhouse based in Oakland’s Jack London Square, with offices and people across the country. This opportunity will start off with in-office work required until you’re up-and-running but will quickly transition to our Productivity work model that allows for the flexibility of working from home unless face time is absolutely necessary.

This opportunity offers a wealth of experience in digital and broadcast production and brand building for global brands. You’ll also be learning the ropes at a rapidly growing agency with a chance for your work to get nationwide exposure. Bring your love of creative concepting, collaborating, problem-solving, and following through to sell the work to internal and client audiences. Video production experience is a huge plus. We work in all other media, too. So, be ready to call upon the media-agnostic heart of an artist and the scrappy spirit of an entrepreneur as your guide. Also, bring interesting stories to tell and the ability to work and play well with others.


  • Create campaigns of TV spots, websites, digital, mobile, radio, and other
    forms of advertising
  • Talk to clients when necessary and, more importantly, listen to them, too
  • Roll with the punches in a fast-paced agency environment
  • Be ready to learn new stuff every day and to gain experience on real projects with real budgets


  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Graphic Design, or related field
  • Zero to two years of agency experience or internships in advertising or digital production
  • A degree (or progress toward one—we’ll work with you while you finish) from an accredited portfolio school or university creative program is a big plus
  • Knowledge of industry-standard creative, collaboration and presentation software (such as Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft, Google, etc.) in a Mac environment is a must

For SF Bay Area / CA based: H/L offers projected salary range for a position as an estimate of what the company believes is a reasonable pay scale. The actual salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on various factors, including the job’s scope and responsibilities, the candidate’s qualifications, budget availability within the department, internal pay equity, geographic location, and external market pay rates for similar positions. The salary range for this position is expected to be between $65,000 – $80,000 per year.
